Clases de exploración de la naturaleza

A través de programas interactivos como días de naturaleza, noches familiares y talleres para adultos, el RRWC despierta la curiosidad en todas las edades a través de clases interesantes sobre diversos temas como agricultura, sostenibilidad y vida silvestre. Estas experiencias fomentan una conexión más profunda con el mundo natural, inspirando acciones responsables para proteger nuestro medio ambiente local.

Basics of Beekeeping
 

Dates: Thursdays, January 15th – February 19th
Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: RRWC Offices – 804 N Evans St, Tecumseh, MI

This comprehensive six-week course is designed for new and aspiring beekeepers looking for hands-on knowledge. Each week builds your foundational skills, covering bee biology, hive setup, maintenance, pest prevention, honey harvest, and seasonal hive management.

​

Graduates will also be invited to join a local beekeeping club and continue learning from experienced beekeepers in the community.

Volunteer Meeting

Join the River Raisin Watershed Council for our January Volunteer Kickoff Meeting! This one-hour gathering is a great opportunity to learn more about volunteering with RRWC, explore upcoming opportunities for the year ahead, and connect with staff and fellow volunteers.

​

We’ll share an overview of our volunteer program, highlight ways to get involved in watershed protection and community outreach, and discuss volunteer membership benefits and perks. Whether you’re brand new to RRWC or a returning volunteer, we’d love to have you join us.

Nature Narratives - Book Club​

Join the River Raisin Watershed Council for our second Nature Narratives Book Club gathering as we explore Is a River Alive? by Robert Macfarlane. This thoughtfully written book invites readers to consider rivers as living beings and to reflect on our relationship with water, place, and stewardship.

​

This gathering is designed to be welcoming and conversational, with space for shared reflection and discussion. Whether you’re a regular book club attendee or joining us for the first time, all are welcome.

Conceptos básicos de la apicultura

​

Lunes de 6 a 8 p.m. (desde el 12/02 hasta el 18/03) en la oficina de RRWC   ( 804 N Evans St. Tecumseh MI )

​

Desde los conceptos básicos de las abejas hasta la cosecha de miel, este curso lo prepara para el éxito de la apicultura. Una vez finalizado, se le invitará a unirse a un club de apicultura local y continuar aprendiendo de mentores experimentados que serán su recurso de apicultura de por vida. Incluye libro de curso.   Impartido por expertos en apicultura: Don Warner y Janet Tucker.
