Become a Master Rain Gardener – April 2025 In-person class!
This Spring 2025 class will be every Friday afternoon, April 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th and May 2nd at 1:00-3:30, office hours 12:00-1:00.

Classes will be held at Manchester District Library (912 City Rd, Manchester, MI 48158). Optional field trips and plant swap opportunities will be available to students. There will be homework. Potluck style snacks provided by staff and classmates! Limit to 20 students.

Lydia Lopez became a fully certified Master Rain Gardener in spring of 2024. Her background in Environmental Science and her work with the River Raisin Watershed Council provide her with insights into the water quality issues of the Great Lakes region. She can't wait to share her experience with budding Master Rain Gardeners!
Susan Bryan, Rain Garden Coordinator has been designing rain gardens for over ten years, and has mentored over 700 homeowners planting rain gardens. She developed the Master Rain Gardener program, and has spread it to six other municipalities. In Ann Arbor, she designed the Miller Avenue rain gardens and the Swift Run street-side rain gardens. She is a past President of Wild Ones, has a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Michigan, and is a Master Gardener.
